Friends Helping Club, founded in year 1970 in Berhampur and emerged from the compassion and social responsibility of a group of young students who deeply understood the challenges faced by their fellow students and the surrounding community. During a time when access to education was limited for many, these students came together with a shared vision—to ensure that financial hardship would not stand in the way of learning and personal growth. What began as a modest initiative to provide books, uniforms, and school fee support to underprivileged students soon grew into a structured and sustained movement dedicated to social welfare.
As the years progressed, Friends Helping Club expanded its scope beyond education to address critical healthcare needs within the community. Recognizing the importance of preventive and life-saving healthcare, the Club actively initiated and supported programs such as Free Pulse Polio campaigns, baby immunization drives, child health check-ups, oxygen cylinder supply during emergencies, blood donation camps, and eye donation awareness programs.
For more than three decades, these initiatives have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of countless families in and around Berhampur. Guided by the principles of compassion, service, and collective responsibility, Friends Helping Club continues to stand as a symbol of hope—driven by volunteers who believe that small acts of kindness, when sustained over time, can bring about powerful social change.
